On 1 April 2005 the Highways Services returned to Essex County Council (with the exception of parking enforcement). Essex County Council is responsible for all of the Highway Network except for Trunk Roads (A12, A120) and Motorways which are maintained by the Highways Agency 08457 504030.

Epping Forest District Council is responsible for parking enforcement in the District.
