Housing Rights

The Private Sector Housing Team provides housing advice and assistance to all private sector residents in the borough including landlords.

Specific support is provided to tenants about tenancy rights, illegal eviction, harassment, rent increases and disrepair.

Private residents experiencing racial harassment are also able to receive support from the Unit.

Private residents are also able to receive assistance with means tested renovation grants and disabled facilities grants to carry out essential repairs to their properties.

Landlords are able to receive grant assistance to improve the state of their properties for their tenants' benefit.
