Nuisance – What can you do about it?

In addition to noise and bonfire smoke, the Environment Neighbourhood team can also help with nuisances caused by premises, accumulations and animals. Remember, a ‘nuisance’ has to be significant and unreasonable in its nature, and affect you at your home in a significant and unreasonable way. Things that are merely an ‘annoyance’ or an ‘eyesore’ are not covered by nuisance law.

Environment & Neighbourhood team have to gather evidence to prove that the nuisance exists, and where we can, an abatement notice will be served to get something done about it. Please bear in mind that nuisance actions can be time consuming and often lengthy operations.
