Private Sector Housing

In this area we bring about the enforcement of housing standards and repair we Identify and ensure safety in houses in multiple occupation, improve private sector housing by provision of grant assistance and provide advice, guidance and enforcement on miscellaneous housing issues.

Much of the work arises from a complaint or enquiry from the public, although there is some programmed work relating to houses in multiple occupation, empty properties and home energy conservation.
