Welcome to our 2011 Annual Report to Tenants. Since April 2010 the Council's housing service has been regulated by the Tenant Services Authority (TSA). The TSA has established five national standards relating to housing service delivery, for all housing providers including local authorities and housing associations.
We are required to publish an annual report explaining
● how we are meeting our obligations under each of the five national standards, and
● how we will deliver on all the commitments we have made to our tenants.
Our annual report also includes a lot of information on our performance and our future aims.
The Council has made significant progress in a number of areas over the last year. A “Repairs Refresh” Programme is nearing completion which will further improve the performance and efficiency of our Housing Repairs Service, whilst maintaining high levels of tenant satisfaction. A continuing programme of works made sure that all our council homes were kept in a decent condition.
We're tackling the problem of parking on housing estates and introducing initiatives to reduce long-term vacancies. A local offer has been published, which sets out our housing commitments to tenants, and tenant involvement continues to be encouraged through a wide range of measures. These activities are discussed in greater detail in the report, and there are many more examples.
Our annual report also shows our progress against 21 'Tenant Selected Indicators'.
