Are you worried about having a fall, or concerned about unwanted callers?
Do you feel vulnerable in any way?
The Careline emergency alarm system may be just what you need if you live alone, or if you are worried about getting help in an emergency.
The Epping Forest Careline is an alarm unit linked through your telephone line with an associated radio trigger. Careline can easily be used to get help from anywhere in your home or nearby garden area. Using a 2-way speech unit, the system is connected to a control centre which is manned 24 hours a day. In an emergency you pull a ceiling cord or press the button on your body-worn pendant.
Our Careline control centre operator can speak to you to find out what the problem is. The control centre holds information that may be needed in an emergency - about your doctor, relatives and any medical conditions.
Anyone can have a Careline alarm
Many sheltered housing schemes, and council flats or bungalows designated for use by older people, are connected to the Careline service free of charge. We can provide you with the service in any other home in Epping Forest District for an annual rental fee. The property must be connected with a phone line. You do not have to be a council tenant to be eligible.
Additional telecare services can be purchased from Careline including:
- smoke, flood and fall detectors
- large button telephones
- bogus caller buttons
