Home Contents Insurance for council tenants

The Council advises its tenants to take out adequate Home Contents Insurance to cover for loss or damage of decorations, goods or belongings owned by the tenant and kept at the premises, including outbuildings.

A Tenants' Contents Insurance Scheme has been specially designed for our tenants and leaseholders. It has been arranged by the Council in association with Aon Limited and Norwich Union (administered by Wessex). The advantages are:

   - Affordable premiums
   - Tenants can pay weekly, fortnightly, monthly or annually
   - Minimum sums insured are low
   - Tenants are not required to install extra home security measures
   - The first part of a claim does not have to be paid by the tenant
