New hedge at Linder's Field LNR

On the 18 February 2009, volunteers from the 1st Buckhurst Hill Guide Group worked with Countrycare staff to create a new 25 metre section of hedge on the eastern boundary of the nature reserve.

"The Guides have chosen The Woodland Trust as the charity they wanted to support for the ‘Changing the World’ initiative launched by Girl Guiding UK in 2009. The tree planting at Linder’s Field is just one of the many projects that the girls will be involved in this year. Countrycare have kindly offered to help run several activities with the aim of getting the girls outside, learning more about the environment and wildlife and ultimately enjoying our local nature reserves.” Victoria James, Assistant Leader, 1^st Buckhurst Hill Guides.
