The Green Team

What is the Green Team all about?

Cutting down trees, planting, pond dipping and photography are just some of the activities on offer to young people through The ‘Green Team’ programme.  The Green Team is for young environmentalists within the Epping Forest District and is a programme of activities enabling young people to learn about all aspects of countryside care

The programme offers activities for age ranges 5 -11 years and School Year 7 and above respectively – upcoming events include pond dipping, hay making, woodland discovery, insect and butterfly safari, bug hunting, seed gathering, cutting down trees and making a fire to dispose of the wood. Learn more about the countryside, find out about wildlife, create a better environment and make new friends. Come along and find out how you can help.

The Green Team is run in partnership between EFDC's Countrycare and Community Development. 

     2009 Summer Programme

•  Tuesday 26th May 2009 - Mountain Biking Hainault Forest. Suitable for 11+
• Friday 29th May 2009 - Nazeing Triangle LNR, Pond Dipping. (Suitable for 5 - 11 years)
• Friday 31st July 2009 - Discovery Day, Fyfield - exploring the world of bugs and insects focusing on butterflies. (Suitable for 5 - 11 years) in association with the BBC Green Balloon Club. Under 5's must be accompanied by a guardian.
• Friday 7th August 2009 - Nazeing Triangle LNR - Green Safari and pond dipping.(Suitable for 5 - 11 years) in association with the BBC Green Balloon Club. Under 5's must be accompanied by a guardian.
• Thursday 13th August 2009 - Copy Wood Field - Practical Day - Haymaking day (Suitable for 11 - 16 years)
• Friday 21st August 2009 - Chigwell Row Wood LNR - scavenger hunt and environmental games. (Suitable for 5 - 11 years)
• Thursday 27th August 2009 - All Saints Churchyard, Epping Upland - Practical Day - Haymaking (Suitable for 11 - 16 years)
