Call for Sites

Epping Forest District Council is undertaking preliminary work to identify potential sites that may be available for development as part of the new Local Development Framework for the area. Please use the link below to access a summary of the submissions so far:

Call for sites provisional list pdf (23 KB)

The submissions so far have been plotted onto a map, which was then split into 4 sections covering the district (as one map would be far too large to download). Please note that some areas of land have appeared in more than one submission, and several of the submission areas overlap with others.

Please use the links below to access the 4 maps and be aware that some of them are quite large and may take a while to download.

Further Information

The Council is commencing work on its Core Strategy - the key document of the new Local Development Framework (LDF).

An immediate priority of the LDF is to make sufficient land allocations to meet:
  1. The housing and employment targets and infrastructure requirements of the East of England Plan (EEP) which was adopted last month and deals with the period up to 2021

    and
  2. Provision for gypsies and travellers in accordance with the Single Issue Review of the EEP

The Core Strategy, however, should look at least 15 years beyond the date of its adoption which would mean the period up to approximately the mid 2020s.

The letter and form below seek opinion on sites that may have genuine potential for development over at least the next fifteen years.

The form can be completed electronically and returned by email, or if you would prefer, it can be printed and returned by post:
