The law (Crime and Disorder Act 1998) says that Councils and voluntary organisations must work together to reduce crime in the community.
Together these organisations form the Epping Forest Safer Communities Partnership (Epping Forest SCP). Its aim is to improve the quality of life in the district for our residents, visitors and businesses.
For example, the Partnership has identified a number of crime ‘hotspot’ areas and set up CCTV there. This has had a dramatic effect on reducing crime and anti-social behaviour in those areas.

Keep an eye out for our Partnership logo with regular crime prevention advice in your local newspaper.
Every year, the Partnership produces a Strategic Assessment and Partnership Plan to tackle specific crimes in the district. These include vehicle crime, burglary and domestic violence.
