Domestic violence includes any form of physical, sexual or emotional abuse between people in a close relationship. It can take a number of forms such as physical assault, sexual abuse, rape, threats and intimidation. Intimidation can be degradation, mental and verbal abuse, humiliation, deprivation, systematic criticism and belittling.
The Epping Forest Domestic Violence Action Group has put together an information pack about domestic violence. The pack explains what you can do and where you can get help, advice and support if you, or someone you know, is experiencing domestic violence.
The information pack is for anyone who is in a violent relationship, including men and people in gay or lesbian relationships.

There is also a credit-card sized leaflet available, which gives useful information for those experiencing domestic violence. This card is designed to be more easily concealed in a pocket or handbag. It is available from the District Council Civic Offices in Epping, and our Information Centres in Loughton, Ongar and Waltham Abbey. The cards are also available from many police stations in the District.
