Essex Police

The Epping Forest District is served by Essex Police, who play a major role in the Safer Communities Partnership.

The District has been split into 9 neighbourhoods, each with a local officer. Mobile phone numbers are provided so that you can speak to your local officer about local issues, but not for reporting crimes and incidents.

You must continue to report crimes and incidents on the following numbers:

  • 999 - In an emergency
  • 0300 333 4444 - The non-emergency number for Essex Police

You can get in touch with your neighbourhood policing team via text message to the number 07624 800101. The officer may be busy but please leave a message and the officer will return your call ASAP, in any case within 24 hours.

Essex Policing Pledge

Essex Police was the first force in the country to sign up to the Policing Pledge which sets out clear priorities for all forces, and shapes the way the police will deal with issues and concerns.

It also informs the public of the standard of service they should expect from their local neighbourhood policing teams. This includes attending all reported crimes, a move Essex Police has already introduced.
