Taxi Rank and Taxi Meters Survey 2012

The council is considering the introduction of taxi ranks within the district. We would like to know whether you consider this would be necessary and if so, we would like your suggestions as to where a rank should be sited and at what times it should operate. The purpose of taxi ranks are to help members of the public to have access to a safe, defined place and for licensed drivers to have a place to stop.

Meters in Hackney Carriages (Taxis)

It has been proposed that the Council set the fares that can be charged by Hackney Carriages for journeys taken in vehicles licensed within the district. To do this the Council would have to impose a condition on the licence that meters are installed in every vehicle.
