2000BCK System Administration Assistant

Fixed Term Contract for 12 Months

Salary: £23,866 to £26,470 per annum plus £857 London Inner Fringe Allowance per annum

We are looking for a dynamic and resourceful individual, with experience of working in a system administration background, to join the Local Taxation’s System Administration team. You will be part of a team responsible for a complex I.T. and document management system spanning Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates and Recovery. Ideally you’ll have knowledge of batch scheduling, reconciliation, integrity checking and interfaces as well as the testing and implementation of new software.  The post holder will play a vital role in ensuring the Local Taxation computer systems are fully compliant with legislation and support the section’s goals of maximising efficiency and constantly promoting innovation.


1017PML Housing Officer (Disabled Adaptations)

Full time - 36 Hours

Salary: £23,866 - £26,470 (rising to £27,358 per annum after 5 years continuous service) plus £857 Inner Fringe Allowance per annum.

Epping Forest District Council delivers a high quality housing service to around 7,000 Council owned and managed properties. The Housing Assets Section is responsible for maintaining and improving the Council’s properties by planning and carrying out various Capital works programmes.

Applications are invited for a Housing Officer (Disabled Adaptations) to join the Housing Assets Section to manage and monitor a range of minor and major disabled adaptations. The post holder will carry out pre and post inspections of disabled adaptation works ensuring the work has been completed in accordance with Adaptation Recommendation issued by the Occupational Therapist through Essex County Council and to the required standards. 

The post holder may undertake pre and post inspections of Tenant Alterations, Decent Homes and Stock Condition Surveys.

A minimum of three year’s experience in the construction industry with the emphasis on housing-related work is essential.  You must have a car and a full driving licence.  An essential users car allowance and user mileage allowance will be payable.


1100TMC Compliance Officer (Trainee) x 2

Fixed Term Contract for 12 months with a view to extend for a further 12 months 

Full time – 36 hours per week

Salary: £20,541- £22,401 per annum plus £857 Inner Fringe Allowance per annum

We are looking for two Compliance Officer’s whose main duties will be to carry out reviews of existing benefit claims to ensure that the correct level of Housing Benefit and Local Council Tax Support/Discount is granted, and to carry out reassessments of entitlement as required.

We are looking to appoint someone who may not have worked in a Local Authority Council Tax or Benefits team before but they must have transferable skills and a willingness to learn. The successful person should have excellent communication skills and some knowledge of Housing Benefit, Local Council Tax Support and Council Tax discounts.


1064UKA Senior Building Control Surveyor

Full time: 36 hours per week

Salary: £40,590 – £43,696 per annum (rising to £44,510 per annum after 5 years continuous service) This salary is inclusive of £857 Inner Fringe per annum and includes a Market Supplement of £7,500 per annum

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a proven recent track record and have an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Building Control and allied legislation. The post holder will be responsible for providing building control services across a geographical area within the district and as a member of a team within Epping Forest District Council. You must be committed to a high level of customer service. In addition, you will be required to develop and maintain a strong portfolio of partnerships within the LABC approved scheme.

The Council is looking to recruit new Community Activity Workers to support the delivery of its innovative, activities programme.
