How we manage our performance

The council wants to provide high quality services for all who live, work, study and do business in the district. We are open about how we intend to improve and the progress we have made. This page explains our priorities for improvement and how we manage our performance. 

Key objectives

Our key objectives support the delivery of our Corporate Plan and details of our progress against the key objectives for the current year are published every 3 months.

Key performance indicators

The council adopts a range of key performance indicators each year which measure how we are performing. These relate to our services and help us to focus on specific areas for improvement.

Performance report

We publish an annual performance report which sets out its performance for the previous year. These can be found on our historic performance page.

Audit and inspection

In recent years, our performance has been regularly reviewed through external audits and assessments. Our auditors also prepare an annual Audit and Inspection Letter that identifies the main issues arising from their work. Our external auditors are currently BDO International Ltd. The findings of recent inspections and inspection letters can be viewed on our historic performance page.
