Loan Boxes: Key Stages 1, 2 and 3

The boxes contain fascinating objects, both real and replica, which will really help to bring the past back to life. There is also a teacher’s pack in each box with notes to help you get the best out of the objects.

Loan Boxes can be hired for half a term at a time. Each box costs £30 per half term for schools within Epping Forest District and £40 per half term for schools outside the District.

Ancient Egyptians

Includes objects connected with the fascinating subject of mummification, and those connected with daily life such as cooking pots and hair curlers.

Ancient Greece
Includes replica clothes, masks and statues to help you explore the lives and beliefs of the Ancient Greeks. Please note, owing to the nature of this topic, all the objects in the box are replicas.

 

Romans
Costumes, jewellery, pots, oil lamps, thumb keys and more, including some real fragments of Roman pottery found in the District!

 

 

Anglo Saxons

North Weald Airfield
This box covers life at North Weald Airfield in both World Wars and the Home Front in Britain during World War Two. Detailed lesson plans, original documents, photographs and oral history recordings are included.
