Reminiscence

Reminiscence boxes

The museum has six themed reminiscence boxes filled with everyday objects from the 1920s-1950s. The boxes are designed to go out in pairs, but you can borrow a single box, or mix and match.

There are a selection of items in each box which can all be freely handled in reminiscence sessions.  There aren't usually detailed notes on the items as the aim is that they will encourage a response from a personal connection or memory for each individual.

The boxes are available to loan free of charge.  You will need to make arrangements to collect and return the boxes to the museum.

They can usually be borrowed for a length of time that suits you. Please contact the Museum to check availability.
