China in the East will be launched at Epping Forest District Museum in July 2012 before it tours museums across the east of England.
The exhibition will showcase the rich Chinese collections of museums in the eastern region. The beautiful objects on display will include spectacular chinese costume from Saffron Walden Museum, intricate finger guards from Bedford Museum, and a delicate brise fan from Epping Forest District Museum.
Also on display will be a fabulous collection of work created by families and young people
during the lead up to the exhibition, providing a fascinating insight into how a younger generation have connected in a new and deeper way with their own and neighbours' heritage. This contemporary take on traditional culture will make China in the East an inspiring experience.
