Audit and Inspection Letters

The purpose of the annual Audit and Inspection Letter is to communicate to the council and its key external stakeholders, including members of the public, the main issues arising from external audit work which the council's external auditors consider should be brought to the attention of the authority.

The Council's external auditors are PKF (UK) LLP. The Government is currently undertaking a consultation exercise in respect of the future of local public audit, following its decision to close the Audit Commission from 2012/13.
