Chairman Turns On Debden Broadway Christmas Lights

The Chairman of Epping Forest District  Council Councillor Brian Sandler and his wife Brenda were guests of honour at Debden Broadway for the official switching on of the Christmas Lights on Thursday 1 December.

Councillor Sandler gave a vote of thanks to Dave Stannard and Debden Traders Association for organising the event. He said: "It was an honour to be asked to switch the lights on. Brenda and I had a marvellous evening and I must congratulate Dave Stannard and the Debden Traders Association for the excellent organisation of the event."

Councillor Sandler continued: "The evening was made particularly special by the Willingale School Singers, a local dance troupe called Fire Dance and Christmas characters played superbly by Performing Arts students from Epping Forest College."

Councillor Sandler also thanked Clinton Cards, Higgins PLC and Loughton Town Council for sponsoring the event and Sainsbury's for the Mince Pies and Mulled Wine.

A reception followed at the Sir Winston Churchill Public House.
