On Friday 27 October 2006 Debden United is holding it’s third annual event as part of the national Kick Racism Out of Football week. The event is free and will take place at Debden Sports Club, Chigwell Lane between 4.00 and 5.00pm and is open to everyone of all ages to enjoy and includes coaching in soccer skills, knock out matches and “goodie bags”.

Debden United is the community football project supported by Epping Forest District Council through the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership and aims to get kids off the streets and into football. This year Debden United has also entered into a partnership agreement with London Underground Limited (LUL) and British Transport Police (BTP).

Over the next six months BTP and LUL will assist the project in attracting more young people and building a competitive football team by raising money to help the project buy kit, hire football coaches and cover the cost of travel to tournaments.

British Transport Police are supporting the annual Kick it Out event, the anti-racist side of the project and will be officially opening the event. They will take the opportunity to talk to local youth about using the tube network to get the most out of their leisure time in a talk entitled “Playing Away Play Safe”.
