Epping Forest District Museum and Lowewood Museum, Hoddesdon are offering visitors a free ‘Memories of Sicily’ 2008 calendar. The calendar shows historic photographs of the Sicilian community in the Lea Valley.
The calendar was made by Acli-Enaip, who in 2006 began collecting memories and photographs of Sicilian migrants in the Lea Valley and Emilia-Romagna migrants in London. The project resulted in a fascinating exhibition, celebrating the heritage of the Italian community. The exhibition toured Lowewood and Epping Forest District Museums and was very well received by visitors.
Both Museums are therefore delighted to be able to offer visitors a copy of the new calendar on request. Please note however, only a limited number of calendars will be available and they will be given out on a first come, first served basis.
