Epping Forest District Council, in conjunction with Voluntary Action Epping Forest, Waltham Abbey Town Partnership, East Potential, Surestart and the Apollo Group is holding a Green Family Fun Day on Saturday 18 October 2008 from 10am to 1pm. It is taking place at the Hazelwood Children Centre behind Hillhouse CE Primary School, Ninefields in Waltham Abbey.
Residents will be able to find out how to help the environment, see what happens to their rubbish as well as finding out how to report rubbish dumping and graffiti. The day will be fun for all the family with giveaways to help the environment, refreshments and activities including junk modelling, face painting and junk jewellery making.
In addition to these activities, there will be a ‘Clean Up’ from 11am until 12 noon when residents can collect a bag of litter and receive a fantastic goodie bag for their efforts! If any local community group signs up for the clean up and collects ten bags of rubbish they can win a prize for their group donated by Apollo Charitable Trust, a project of the Apollo Group. In order to sign up groups should call 01992 564556.
