HOPE Comes to Residents

The residents of Epping Forest District Council’s Sheltered Housing Scheme in Parsonage Court in Loughton played host to the residents of Jubilee Court in Waltham Abbey for a competition with a Nintendo Wii and the Wii sports game.

Chairman John Knapman bowling a spareThe competition was suggested after Tottenham Hotspur Football Club donated a Wii to Parsonage Court as part of the HOPE (Helping Older People Exercise) initiative to encourage older residents of the community to become more fit and active.

Chairman of Council Councillor John Knapman presented a Wii to Jubilee Court before the competition started. He said: “I hope this gift to Jubilee Court will help the residents in their campaign to get healthier.”

Natalie Saunders of the HOPE organisation also took part in the activities scoring a strike in the Wii bowling.

Jubilee Court were the eventual winners with a victorious 99 points and Parsonage Court only having practised once the previous day came in close second with 93 points.
