Come along to one or more of the exciting activities during half term. A week of partnership-funded half term Youth events and activities, across Loughton bringing young people and community professionals together.

Professor Bumm’s Story Machine - fun for all the family ad Prof Bumm and Dr Whee turn ideas from the audience into hilarious stories using their amazing machine. 3pm at The Murray Hall, Borders Lane in Loughton. Telephone 020 8508 4200. The cost is £7 for 1 adult and 1 child.

Jungle Book Children’s Workshops - arts, crafts, singing, dance, movement, drama themed around a different character from The Jungle Book each day at Roding Valley High School in Loughton. Workshops are for 5 to 7 year olds between 10am to 12 noon, and for 8 to 11 year olds from 1pm to 3pm. Telephone 020 8508 6172. The cost is £2.50 per session or £10 for the whole week.

Launch Event - free refreshments, musical entertainment provided by the Red Zebra Troupe and a chance to make some positive introductions! At the Mobile Police Office in Debden Broadway from 2pm to 4pm.

Boxercise - a physical, non-contact workout session at the The Ignite Centre, 201 High Road in Loughton from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.

Hip Hop Dance - a workshop led by professional dancer, Kofi Agyemang, aimed at people of all abilities and levels at Loughton Youth Centre in Borders Lane from 4:30pm to 6pm.

Manga Workshop - Learn the skills of the popular Japanese cartoon art from professional manga artist, Emma Vieceli in Loughton Youth Centre in Borders Lane from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Skate Fest - mobile skate and BMX equipment and climbing wall for all to try out. Free refreshments, professional demonstrations and music/entertainment at Roding Valley Meadows Tennis Courts Off Avondale Drivefrom 11am to 3pm.

DJ Skills - workshop with a professional DJ learning how to mix all sorts of music at the Ignite Centre, 201 High Roadin Loughton from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.

Fluro Party - pro DJ and new recruits spinning the latest tunes at a party for just years 10 to 13. Dry bar, chill space and a prize for the best ‘fluorescent’ outfit (optional) at the Ignite Centre, 201 High Road in Loughton from 7:30pm to 10pm.

The Mighty Jungle U-11s Disco - free alternative Hallowe’en party. Bring along all your friends in school years 1 to 6 for a fun packed alternative to trick or treating. It will be a great party with music, games, food, dressing up competition for the best ‘jungle’ outfit, a chance to hear why we don’t need to be afraid of hallowe’en and a big bag of sweets to go home with!
