Essex County Council is encouraging all its staff to make a difference to their local community through volunteering. Under the scheme, known as Essex Volunteers, employees can take up to two days’ paid leave to volunteer. It is hoped this will spark a longer-term interest and commitment to volunteering.
On Friday 2 July 2010, volunteers from Essex County Council’s Cabinet, Leader and Chief Executives Office spent the day with Countrycare Staff helping to get the Lambourne Woods MultiFor Project underway.
Working closely with staff the team of volunteers helped to clear an overgrown section of the wood and also began the construction of a new boardwalk.
A massive thank you to all the volunteers from the Countrycare Staff.
