Epping Forest District Council’s Safer Communities Team is working in partnership with Nacro a crime reduction charity and Essex Police’s Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to try and organise activities for North Weald’s young people to get involved in.
Nacro’s Youth Bus will be on the forecourt of The King’s Head Garage in North Weald on Thursday 1 April between 7.30pm and 9.00pm. Councillor Syd Stavrou Portfolio Holder for Community Safety and Transport said: “We would like all local young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who live in the North Weald area to visit the bus for drop in sessions. We can then get some idea about what activities they would like to take place in the North Weald area.”
She went on to say: “I have received a lot of feedback from local young people who complain that there is nothing to do in North Weald. The whole point of this event is to get it straight from the horse’s mouth. Once we know what activities are wanted, we will do our utmost to organise a weekly event in a local venue that has actually been requested. I would therefore encourage as many people as possible to come along and talk to us on 1 April.”
