Waltham Abbey’s Moment to Shine arrived as the clouds cleared and the Sun shone for the arrival of the Olympic Torch Relay. An estimated 20,000 people lined the streets of the Abbey to welcome the Flame and send it on its way to the Lee Valley White Water Centre where it took to the Olympic rapids.
Torchbearers Steven Basing and Liu Dong were joined on the Waltham Abbey leg by four-times Olympic GB Swimmer Suki Brownsdon . Epping Forest Youth Councillor Scarlett Stock proudly ran with the Flame in Maldon yesterday.
