Youth Council Blog: Jack Petchey Award winners announced

Jack Petchey Achievement Award winners Jaymey McIvor, Carina Sander and Natasha Miller

Epping Forest Youth Council are members of the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme.

The Achievement Award Scheme aims to enable schools, colleges and youth organisations to recognise, reward and celebrate the achievements of their young people. Jack Petchey wants young people to raise their aspirations, believe in themselves and make a contribution to their society.

The Achievement Awards are designed to recognise a wide range of achievement. It is not just about being clever, or gifted, but about putting the effort in and doing your best. The scheme works well because young people themselves are involved in nominating and selecting the winners.”

The Epping Forest Youth Council winners this term were Natasha Miller from King Harold Business and Enterprise Academy, Carina Sander from Roding Valley High School and Jaymey McIvor from St. Johns School, Epping.

Jack is a great believer of positive thinking and would like to share with you one of the quotes that have helped him in life.

“Each day is a new opportunity.

Yesterday is over and done.

Today is the first day of our future.” ~ Author Unknown
