Paul Bostock, who sadly died on 16 July, represented the residents of Loughton as a Labour Councillor for the wards of Loughton Broadway and Loughton Alderton from 1998 to 2004.

Planning and the environment were areas he took a particular interest in as a member of the Policy Working Group on the Environment and the Portfolio Advisory Group on the Local Plan. He was also a member of Overview and Scrutiny and Area Plans Sub A.

Councillor Brian Sandler, Chairman of Epping Forest District Council paid tribute to Mr Bostock. He said: “As a councillor, Paul Bostock was always a free-thinker and would put his opinions forcefully in the Council Chamber. He represented his ward with energy and diligence. I am sure he will be missed and offer my sincere condolences on behalf of the Council to his family and friends.”
