Rumpelstiltskin tours the Epping Forest District

Rumpelstiltskin visits the District this winter courtesy of Theatre of Widdershins.

Epping Forest Arts, the Arts section of Epping Forest District Council, have organised the theatre’s tour of local schools during the last week of January and the first week of February.

Theatre of Widdershins is a nationally-renowned touring puppet company who have performed in schools and festivals throughout England. During the 2004 Winter Tour, the one-man company will be presenting the Brothers Grimm classic fairytale 'Rumpelstiltskin', the story of the foolish miller who claims his daughter has magical powers.

The performance combines puppetry with storytelling, lighting effects and a musical soundtrack. The highly visual performances, plus the size of the set, gives the feel of a small theatre rather than the traditional puppetry-in-a-booth style of show. Children will also get the chance to meet the puppets after the show.
