Image of Waltham House, home of Victorian author Anthony TrollopeJoin us at Lowewood Museum on Saturday 8 September 2012 from 11am – 3pm, to celebrate the launch of the Anthony Trollope collection, on loan to the museum from the Trollope Society.

Anthony Trollope was one of the most successful English novelists of the Victorian era. As well as a writer, Trollope was a Surveyor to the Eastern District for the Post Office, a role by which he is famous for introducing the pillar box to Britain.

In 1859, Trollope moved to Waltham House in Waltham Cross, and during the 12 years he spent there, he was at the height of his writing career writing many of his best loved works including The Last Chronicle of Barset.

Celebrating the life and work of this beloved novelist, the day will include:

11.15am: Official launch of the collection by The Mayor of Broxbourne, Cllr Eddy Rowland and Michael G Williamson JP DL Chairman: The Trollope Society

11.30 – 11.40am: Reading of Trollope by members of The Trollope Society

12 noon - 3pm: Family Fun! Join us for a Post Box Craft session that will be fun for all the family

12.30 – 12.40pm: Reading of Trollope by members of The Trollope Society

3pm: Event End
