Description

The District Museum is holding a party on Friday 1st November to celebrate the start of our refurbishment project. Richard York will be here from 12noon until 2pm, then again from 3pm until 4.30pm entertaining everyone with Tudor music and dancing using period instruments. Andrew Ashmore will also be here, playing the historical character William Winters.  Winters was a Victorian antiquarian who wrote a detailed history of Waltham Abbey.  Come and hear his tales of the past between 1.30pm and 3.30pm, then again from 4.30pm to 7pm. Children are encouraged to come in historical fancy dress and William Winters will give out a prize for the best outfit at 3pm.  At 4.30pm, the Chairman of Epping Forest District Council, Councillor Mary Sartin will formally launch the museum's refurbishment project by cutting the specially designed museum cake!  We'll be staying open late until 7pm so there's plenty of time for one last look around before we close for the refurbishment and extension work to begin.
