2000AXF Deputy Hostel Manager

Part-time - 18 hours per week

11am-5pm Wednesday to Friday

Salary: £20,541 - £22,401 per annum pro rata (rising to £23,111 per annum pro rata after a minimum 5 years continuous service) including £857 Inner Fringe Allowance per annum pro rata, plus standby, call-out and essential car user payments  

The Council has a vacancy for a part-time Deputy Hostel Manager at our Homeless Persons Hostel for homeless families at Norway House, North Weald.  You would be part of a team of staff who monitor the well-being of residents ensuring they comply with the conditions of their licences.  The work also includes reporting repairs, collecting residents’ license charges and checking the safety of people placed by the Council in other temporary accommodation.  This is an exciting opportunity as you will be involved in continuously improving the service through our working practices to ensure we are fully prepared for the increasing challenges that lie ahead in respect of our homelessness function.    


CHC07M Museums, Heritage and Culture, Cultural Projects Officer

Part-time Maternity Cover 22 hours (Fixed term: March 2019 – February 2020)

Salary: £28,221 – £31,401 pro rata per annum plus Inner Fringe Allowance £857pro rata per annum

The role
Epping Forest District Council’s Museum, Heritage and Culture Service have an opportunity for an experienced projects officer to join its dynamic and successful team, in a maternity cover role.

The Cultural Projects Officer is part of the Museums Heritage & Culture team responsible for the co-ordination and operational management of the cultural delivery programme across two museums; Epping Forest District Museum in Waltham Abbey and Lowewood Museum in Hoddesdon. This post has a specific focus on five areas of work during the estimated one-year period; lead on the young person’s summer programme; progress the planning and implementation of acquiring an autism-friendly museum status; enhance audience development initiatives through the establishment and running of user focus groups; manage EFDC bursaries and awards associated with culture and the arts; develop submissions for project funds from internal and external sources.

Following a decision to expand and accelerate our Council Housebuilding Programme, we are looking to appoint an experienced Housing Development Officer to assist in the delivery of more than 300 new affordable rented homes over the next few years.

The Council has recently appointed a new Framework of Consultants and Contractors to deliver the programme.  Reporting to the Housing Development Manager, you will work alongside members of the Framework to project manage the delivery of individual development sites across the District – assisting with the planning and procurement processes, through to acting as client for the consultants’ supervision of works.  You will have an organised and self-motivated approach to your work and have the ability to oversee your contracts with minimum supervision.
