Salary: £27,668 - £30,153 per annum (rising to £30,785 per annum after 5 years continuous service) plus £840 Inner Fringe Allowance per annum
The Estates Team strategically manages the Council’s commercial property assets across the district on behalf of Epping Forest District Council (EFDC). The successful postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of EFDC’s commercial property investment portfolio in accordance with legislation and industry-leading practices.
The postholder will ensure that performance targets are met in an efficient, client focused manner and deliver well-managed, cost effective property management through timely rent collection, arrears reduction and regular liaison with tenants, suppliers and stakeholders.
Periodic inspections of the commercial portfolio will be required, and the postholder will provide reports highlighting any issues to the relevant asset manager.
You will also be required to assist with administrative tasks relevant to Estates such as invoicing and maintaining up-to-date records as well as ensuring that the online property management system (Propman) is fully up-to-date regarding transactions and that the financial data sent to finance for rent/service charge collection is timely and accurate.
We are looking for someone who has a commitment to service delivery, with a flexible approach to work when dealing with people, both face to face and on the telephone. This role involves working with a wide variety of people from members of the public, tenants, suppliers to internal stakeholders therefore, excellent Customer Care skills are required.
Due to the nature of the work, applicants are expected to have excellent verbal communication and written skills. As this is a specialist role, previous experience in a commercial property management role is essential as well as a business, finance or management qualification. Applicants must also be willing to undergo training for any additional updates as and when required.
This post involves some travel across the district, for which an essential car user allowance is payable.
