We are working hard to get business support grant payments out to eligible businesses, starting next week.
There is a significant amount of work to be undertaken and we are prioritising the processing of these grants. You do not need to apply for the grant.
Grants will be paid to the person who, according to our records, was the ratepayer for the property on 11 March. If we have your business bank details, payments will be made via a BACs transfer, but if no details are known a cheque will be produced and sent to the last known business address.
Business rate relief
Rate relief has now been applied to almost every account that required it, and revised bills were sent out on 30 March.
If you haven’t received this revised bill or cannot access your business post due to the current lockdown, you can view your amended bill online via our business rates portal.
If you don’t already have an account, you will need to register for a business rates account.
If you haven’t received your Business rate relief or have a related enquiry then please email ndr@eppingforestdc.gov.uk.
Who is covered?
Small business grant funding
Under the Small Business Grant Fund (SBGF), all businesses in England in receipt of Small Business Rates Relief (SBRR) in the business rates system will be eligible for a payment of £10,000.
Retail hospitality and leisure grant
Under the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant (RHLG), businesses in England in receipt of the Expanded Retail Discount (which covers retail, hospitality and leisure) with a rateable value of less than £51,000 will be eligible for the following cash grants per property:
- Eligible businesses in these sectors with a property that has a rateable value of up to £15,000 will receive a grant of £10,000
- Eligible businesses in these sectors with a property that has a rateable value of over £15,000 and less than £51,000 will receive a grant of £25,000
- Businesses with a rateable value of £51,000 or over and businesses that are not ratepayers in the business rates system are not included in this scheme
We appreciate your patience in these exceptional circumstances.
Beware scams
Please be wary of companies that contact you to help you facilitate your business grant on a “no grant, no fee basis”, or by charging a flat rate fee.
The grant is free and there is no application form required. We will automatically issue the grant to you if your business is eligible. If you do not receive the grant by mid-April and you feel you are eligible please contact us by email ndr@eppingforestdc.gov.uk.
