Additional Restrictions Grant
Additional Restrictions Grants Important Notice:
Any applications for Additional Restrictions Grant made by 31 March 2021 will be eligible to receive the multiple payments intended to cover the periods of national lockdown from 5 November 2020 to 31 March 2021.
Any applications received after 31 March 2021 will only be eligible for a single payment from the Additional Restrictions Grant fund. This is to keep payments in line with the Local Restriction Support Grant schemes, which close for applications on 31 March 2021.
The Government’s intention is to help those businesses which – while not legally forced to close – are, nonetheless, severely impacted by restrictions put in place to control the spread of COVID-19.
This could include – for example – businesses which supply the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors; or businesses in the events sector. It may also include businesses that are outside the business rates system but were effectively forced to close.

- The use of up to £500,000 to fund key programmes in the priority areas identified in this report as part of an Economic Resilience Fund.
- That future changes to the ARG scheme are delegated to the Customer Service Director in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Customer and Corporate Services and Portfolio Holder for Finance and Economic Development.
Additional Business Support
Businesses can now also apply for Additional Business Support.
This funding is aimed at businesses that have been excluded from existing or previous national and local Covid-19 financial support schemes; and/or where income, including financial support, has been insufficient to cover business costs.
An application for Additional Business Support can be made using the same form as for Additional Restrictions Grant.
