Community gardening for everyone kicks off in North Weald next month.
Community allotment
The community allotment at Wheelers Farm Gardens, Queens Road, North Weald is being transformed into a special outdoor space for people to come together and grow and sow fruits and vegetables.
No experience in growing is needed, just an enthusiasm to join in and make new friends. But experienced growers are welcome too.
Bring people together
The first session is on Thursday 22 April 2-4pm and every week thereafter. The aim is to bring people together to enjoy a lovely time outdoors making friends while nurturing and watching seedlings grow into food that we can be cooked and eaten.
The sessions are free to join, and all ages are welcome, although under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
Government guidelines
Initially sessions will have a limit of six people to comply with the current government guidelines. Gardening gloves, comfortable clothing and proper outdoor footwear is all that is needed as seeds, tools and materials will be provided.
