Cottis Lane car park closes for work to start on new multi-storey car park in Epping.
The existing Cottis Lane car park will close from the evening of 2 September 2022 to enable construction to commence on the new 330 space multi-storey car park in Epping Town Centre. The new car park is expected to be completed by Summer 2023.
Temporary parking at St John’s Road
To reduce the impact on the community we have worked with local councillors to create temporary car parking at St John’s Road which will open on 3 September to provide additional spaces while the work is being carried out. Bakers Lane car park will also remain open.
A separate area off the High Street within the old depot will also be available for the markettraders to park their vehicles on a Monday for market day. Talks continue with owners of other car parks in the town to explore all alternatives.
During the construction of the new car park, we are ensuring there is access to 4 accessible parking bays on the edge of the Cottis Lane site for those who need them. The public toilets will also remain open.
