A message to express our sorrow and condolences to the family of Richard Okorogheye.
The Chief Executive of Epping Forest District Council, Georgina Blakemore has spoken on behalf of councillors, employees and local people to express the sorrow and condolences of the district to the family of Richard Okorogheye.
In our hearts and prayers
Georgina Blakemore said:
It has been with great sadness that we have watched the tragedy of Richard Okorogheye’s disappearance unfold across our TV screens over the last few days. We do not know what drew him from his home on the other side of London to our district but we have watched with foreboding as the search progressed.
As a council, we work closely with our colleagues in Essex Police and also know the distress they will have felt at such a tragic outcome.
Were it not for the pre-election rules which forbid the council from issuing statements directly from our councillors during this time, I know that all of our councillors and colleagues would want to express their sorrow and condolences to the family and friends of Richard.
You are in our hearts and prayers.
