Last month the Government announced a £150 Council Tax rebate this year for Council Tax payers who live in household bands A-D.
Council Tax rebate
This rebate won’t have to be repaid and will be made directly by us. We are currently working to finalise how people are going to be paid the rebate.
Please do not contact us about this payment, we will be in touch with you.
The Government recommends payments are made to:
- Direct Debit customers by end of April
- Non-Direct Debit customers by end of November
If you do not already pay by Direct Debit setting one up now will mean its quicker and easier to pay you this rebate.
If we have your bank details (because you pay by Direct Debit) we will pay the money into your bank account. If we don’t hold your bank details, we will be in touch to get these from you.

Energy Bill Discount Scheme
Another major government announcement last month was that millions of households will receive up to £350 to help with the cost of living following a rise in the energy price cap.
All domestic electricity customers will get £200 off their energy bills from October. Customers will pay back the discount in equal instalments over 5 years, starting from financial year 2023-2024, when wholesale gas prices are expected to come down.
A discretionary fund of £144 million in England has also be provided to support vulnerable people and individuals on low incomes that do not pay Council Tax, or that pay Council Tax for properties in Bands E-H.
We understand that this is a challenging time and we will do what we can to help you. We will publish details on our website and social media on how we are going to manage this support as soon as we receive further details from the Government.
