We’re proud to tell you a team of our officers has been commended by Essex Police for helping vulnerable people.
Operation Synapse
Community resilience and housing officers from Epping Forest District Council, working alongside our council funded police officers, set up Operation Synapse after an incident in March. A council tenant was seriously assaulted at a property in Waltham Abbey which had been ‘cuckooed’ by a drug dealer.
We applied for and obtained a Closure Order on the property in Caneland Court, Waltham Abbey. A further 4 more Closure Orders were secured as the perpetrators moved onto other properties in the area.
Essex Police Operation Raptor
Our Housing, Community Resilience and the funded police team continued to share information regarding new or recent ASB complaints. This information was passed to Essex Police Operation Raptor officers dealing with drugs and gangs. The working party still meets fortnightly to remain aware of any concerns.
