For this year’s Crucial Crew, we have developed an online resource.
Crucial Crew is an educational programme for year 6 pupils to learn about road safety, online safety, fire safety, bullying, drugs and substance abuse and physical and mental health.
The event is usually held at Debden House every June, with 1,500 school children attending, but due to Covid-19 we have had to develop a digital version of the programme.
The pack includes top tips, presentations and activities to show the key messages as well as quizzes, check lists, helpful links and contact numbers and fun facts.
Download the resources:
- Fire Safety (pdf 1MB)
- Bullying and cyber bullying (pdf 1MB)
- Online safety (pdf 894KB)
- Weight management (pdf 1MB)
- Drug and substance misuse (pdf 4MB)
- Physical activity (pdf 2MB)
- Mental health and wellbeing (pdf 962KB)
- Road Safety (pdf 802KB)
- Sainsbury’s Road Safety Presentation (pdf 10MB)
- Test your knowledge (pdf 652KB)
We have been working with partners such as the Red Balloon Foundation, Ace Lifestyle, Essex Fire Service, Sainsburys, Essex Highways, Spark 2 Life, and Safer Places to create this amazing resource.
Boost confidence
Councillor Holly Whitbread, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Community said:
This is always a wonderful event and it’s great that we can continue it for this year, even in a slightly different way. Our key partners, as always have been fantastic in supporting the creation of this resource.
I hope the year 6 pupils find it useful and engaging. Crucial Crew helps boost confidence and equips the students with important knowledge and various support channels before joining secondary school. We wish them all the best for their next step in education.
