We are urging eligible residents who have not yet applied for 2 energy bills support schemes to apply as soon as possible, the deadline for applications is 31 May 2023.
Care homes and park homes residents
Potential applicants include residents of care homes and park homes. Applications have been lower than expected and we are asking that you share this message with anyone you know who lives in a care home or park home.
Energy bills support scheme alternative funding (EBSS AF)
If you pay for energy through a landlord, housing manager or site owner, live in a park home, houseboat or off the electricity grid, or are in a care home or assisted living facility, you can apply for £400 support if you did not get it automatically.

Alternative fuel payment (AFP)
If you use alternative fuels for most of your heating, such as liquid petroleum gas (LPG), oil or solid fuel and are connected to the electricity grid, you can apply for £200 support if you did not get it automatically.

Households without online access or who need support completing their application can contact the government helpline on 0808 175 3287 where they will be guided through the application process.
The helpline is open 8am to 6pm on Monday to Friday.
