The search has begun for next year’s top citizens in Epping Forest District.
Celebrating citizens who have gone the extra mile
Every year the Council Chairman hosts an awards ceremony to recognise and celebrate citizens who have gone the extra mile to support their communities.
It could be a good neighbour or charity worker, or perhaps someone who runs a club for youngsters or older people.
This year’s winner was June O’Brien from North Weald, who runs the Evergreen Club for retired men and women at Pelly Court, Epping.
June raises funds to keep the group going, ensuring all members have a pleasurable and fun-filled afternoon.
Have someone in mind?
So if you know someone, or a group of people, who make positive changes why not nominate them for a Citizen of the Year, or Team of the Year Award.
Nominees must be over 18 and live in the district in order to be considered.
The Young Citizen of the Year Award is open to 11 to 18 year-olds who have made an outstanding contribution to young people and activities in Epping Forests. Applications close on Friday 29 November 2019.
