Noise and the way it affects our neighbours is something to be aware of at this difficult time when most of us are at home 24/7.
To help communities cope with staying at home, please consider how your actions, or those of your family, could cause stress and anxiety to neighbours.
Think about your neighbours
For instance please be aware of:
- The volume of your TV and music, particularly at night
- Noisy DIY. Is it really necessary?
If so, only carry out between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday and try to avoid weekends
Please think about your neighbours who are elderly, have young children or are self-isolating for medical reasons.
Excessive domestic noise, such as banging, children running around in flats, or dogs barking, particularly at unsociable hours, can cause severe disturbance to neighbours who may be feeling stressed by being forced to stay at home.
