‘Faiths in the Forest’ is the title of a new exhibition at Epping Forest District Museum, launched during Inter Faith Week and running until 14 February 2022.
New exhibition
The exhibition features items from different faith groups from across the district, chosen to reflect key attributes of their practice and community.
The aim of the exhibition is to celebrate diverse faiths, increase awareness and build relationships between faith groups, the museum and visitors.
It is hoped the display will encourage other faith groups based in the district to contact the museum about potential gifts or donations if they feel that their community is not reflected in the museum.
Items have been loaned by:
- BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Chigwell
- Epping Quakers
- Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT)
- Duldzin Dragpa Kadampa Buddhist Centre, Epping
More information
They are on display at the Core Gallery, Epping Forest District Museum, Waltham Abbey.
This project involves heritage and venues staff from Epping Forest District Council’s Community, Culture and Wellbeing service and members of the Essex Faith Covenant (a county-wide faith-based group put together to promote partnerships between faith communities and public services).
