A partnership aimed at encouraging young girls with learning or physical disabilities to play football is launched this week.
Football opportunities for girls
Epping Forest District Council’s Community, Culture and Wellbeing team is partnering with the FA UNITE programme and Waltham Abbey Town Council to bring footballing opportunities to girls aged 12 to 14 with a learning or physical disability.
The programme is open to those who’ve never played – but would like to – and those who want to improve their skills. The sessions kick off on:
- Date: Friday 23 July
- Time: 6pm to 7pm
- Venue: Town Mead Astroturf pitches, Waltham Abbey.
Book online
Staff have been working closely with the FA since the application was approved in May ensuring they are trained and can effectively support everyone. Booking is essential and can be done online.
The aim of the pilot is to help 12 to 14 year old girls with learning or physical disabilities to start or continue to play football and develop their skills and understanding of the game, while having fun.
