Small businesses are set to receive a boost as we are to fund a limited number of free and discounted memberships for small and micro local firms.
Grow and develop your business
Epping Forest District Council is committed to supporting businesses during what has been one of the most difficult trading periods in memory. By funding FSB memberships, Epping Forest District Council will give business a boost to support them to grow and develop.
Under the scheme, businesses who have 0-4 employees will be eligible for fully funded memberships whilst firms with 5-10 employees will receive a 50% discount on the cost of a 12-month membership. Businesses must not be a current FSB member and the memberships will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis for eligible applicants.
Membership benefits
Businesses who join the FSB will be eligible for a wide range of benefits including a funding platform, medical care helpline, employment advice and protection, debt recovery, as well as an award-winning legal hub for advice and a range of virtual support events and networking opportunities.
Councillor John Philip, Finance, Qualis Client & Economic Development Portfolio Holder said:
Local Businesses are an essential part of our community, providing employment, training and contributing to the economic resilience of the area. Epping Forest District Council recognise the difficulties small businesses have faced over the past 18 months and has been committed to supporting them since the start of the pandemic.
It is more important than ever that we help small businesses to grow and thrive, that is why I am delighted to announce that we are funding FSB membership discounts to enable businesses to access specialist support and advice as well as giving them a powerful advocacy platform.
Importance of small businesses
David Bell, FSB East of England Chair added:
I have been impressed by the commitment Epping Forest District Council has shown in recognising the importance and contribution of small businesses to its area. FSB are totally committed to furthering the aims and ambitions of small businesses and we are working together to make this happen.
I look forward to meeting the new businesses who join under the scheme and finding out how we can help represent and deliver for them.
